The MaxiSYS Ultra is Autel's flagship - a complete diagnostic workstation rather than a scanner. Alongside full diagnostics, ECU programming and coding, it carries an integrated MaxiFlash VCMI unit containing a 5-channel oscilloscope, multimeter, waveform generator and CAN bus inspection tools. In practice it replaces several separate instruments with one.

This matters for the hardest category of fault: the intermittent electrical problem that produces no code, or a code that lies. When a sensor is failing under load, or a CAN line is degrading, an oscilloscope is the only instrument that shows you the truth. Everything else is inference.

Who we recommend this for

• Specialist diagnostic workshops - the intended audience. If your business is solving faults other garages could not, the oscilloscope and topology mapping are the tools that make that possible rather than lucky.
• Workshops doing ECU programming - J2534 pass-through programming allows official manufacturer software to be flashed to control units, keeping that work and its margin in house.
• High-volume and main-dealer-adjacent operations - topology mapping shows the entire vehicle network visually, turning a systematic module hunt into a glance at a diagram.
• Businesses moving into EV and hybrid work - the measurement capability matters far more on high-voltage systems, where guessing is neither safe nor viable.

Probably not the right tool if…

You do not have a genuine commercial case for it. This is the most capable tool we sell and it is priced as professional capital equipment. A well-run independent garage is usually better served by the MaxiSYS MS906 Pro or MaxiPRO MP900, keeping the difference for other equipment. Buy the Ultra when specific work demands it - not for the specification sheet.
