Diagnostic scanner for Mercedes-Benz: what Launch and Autel cover
Mercedes-Benz cars have many control units and brand-specific procedures, so a generic code reader only scratches the surface. This is what the Launch tools we sell list for Mercedes-Benz.
What the scanner covers
- Years: 1996 to 2025, 48 model groups.
- Systems: 427 control units listed.
- Functions: trouble codes, live data, active tests, special functions, special procedures, coding and program functions.
- Typical jobs: service reset, electronic parking brake, battery registration, steering angle calibration, DPF regeneration and coding after module replacement.
Which tool to choose
- Launch CRP919E or CRP919E BT - the best value for older and mid-age Mercedes cars.
- Launch PRO V5.0 - for daily workshop use with 37 service functions.
- Autel MK900BT - the 900 series is Autel's route for recent Mercedes models with a gateway (see below).
Good to know
- Recent Mercedes models use a security gateway. Our Launch tools do not unlock it; Autel offers a paid yearly licence for its higher-end tools, sold by dealers and not by us.
- Key work (all keys lost) needs a separate programmer and, on some models, an extra adapter; ask us first.
- Coverage figures come from Launch's public coverage database for the CRP919E BT. They show which systems and functions are listed, not a guarantee for every single car.
