Diagnostic scanner for VW, Audi, Skoda and Seat
The VW group is one of the most common make families on the road, so this is a page many customers need. A proper all-system scanner covers engine, gearbox, ABS, airbags, comfort modules and the service jobs that follow repairs.
What the scanner covers
- Models: 170 model entries in Launch's list for the VW group (VW, Audi, Skoda, Seat, Bentley, Lamborghini and more), with 252 systems.
- Functions: trouble codes, live data, active tests, special functions and coding.
- Typical jobs: oil and service reset, electronic parking brake, battery registration, steering angle calibration, DPF regeneration, injector coding.
Which tool to choose
- Launch CRP919E or CRP919E BT - the best value for older and mid-age cars without a gateway.
- Launch PRO V5.0 - for daily workshop use with 37 service functions.
- Autel MK900 or MK900BT - the 900 series is the route for recent VAG cars with the security gateway (see below).
Good to know
- Recent VW, Audi, Skoda and Seat models are protected by a security gateway; Launch marks such models with SFD in its list. Our Launch tools do not unlock it. Autel lists its 900 series as compatible with its paid yearly SFD licence, which is sold by dealers and not by us.
- Models before roughly 2020 are normally not affected.
- Coverage figures come from Launch's public coverage database for the CRP919E BT. They show which systems and functions are listed, not a guarantee for every single car.
