Autel APB112 Smart Key Simulator

The APB112 Smart Key Simulator is a specialist accessory for automotive locksmiths and key programming professionals. It is not a diagnostic tool and it does nothing on its own - it is designed to work together with an Autel immobiliser programmer such as the MaxiIM IM508, IM508S, IM608 or IM608 Pro.

Its job is to simulate a key chip so the vehicle's immobiliser system responds as though a genuine key were present. This lets the technician collect the data needed to read immobiliser passwords and program keys in situations where the normal route is blocked - most commonly on Volkswagen Group vehicles with 4th and 5th generation immobiliser systems, and in all-keys-lost scenarios where there is no working key to start from.

This is definitely not for you if…

You do not own an Autel MaxiIM programmer. We want to be completely clear about this, because it is the most common mistaken purchase in this category: the APB112 cannot read codes, cannot program a key, and cannot be used with a phone, a laptop, or a diagnostic scanner from any other brand. On its own it is an inert box. It is only useful as a companion to an Autel IM-series tool.

It is also not a tool for general workshops or private owners. Key and immobiliser work requires training, the correct legal authorisation to work on vehicle security systems, and an understanding of the consequences if a procedure fails mid-way.
