Launch X431 PROS ELITE

The X431 PROS ELITE is Launch's answer for the technician who has outgrown a handheld scanner but doesn't need a flagship workshop station. It is a full Android tablet that connects to the vehicle by cable, giving you complete access to every electronic module in the vehicle rather than just the engine.

The cable is a trade-off worth knowing about: it never needs pairing and never drops out mid-procedure, but the tablet stays tied to the OBD port while you work.

Who we recommend this for

• Independent garages - full-system coverage across a wide make list, with the guided service routines that fill an ordinary working day: oil resets, electronic parking brakes, steering angle calibration, DPF work and battery registration.
• Technicians who prefer a hard connection - particularly for coding and adaptation work, where a dropped connection is expensive.
• Advanced enthusiasts - if you are already doing your own servicing and repairs, this is the level where you stop guessing: read every module, run active tests, and confirm a component is genuinely dead before buying the part.

Probably not the right tool if…

You often need to diagnose while the car is moving, or want the tablet with you under the bonnet - the wireless Launch CRP919E BT is better for that. If you only need to check why the engine light came on once or twice a year, a Launch CRP123X covers that for far less. And if you need daily J2534 programming across all makes, look at the X431 PROS V5.0 or the Autel MaxiSYS range instead.
